Our story
Three decades in the trade, one honest crew
SBJ Painting is Sean's shop, founded in 2016 on the back of a career spent learning how to do this work right.
Sean opened SBJ Painting in 2016, but the experience behind it runs a lot deeper: more than thirty years of hands-on work with a brush, a sprayer, and just about every surface southern Colorado can throw at you. Today he runs the crew alongside Ken, and together they handle everything from a single accent wall to a full log home restoration.
We never set out to be the biggest outfit in the valley. We wanted to be the one people call back, the one that answers the phone, shows up when we say we will, and treats a customer's home the way we'd treat our own. Residential or commercial, that's still the whole plan.
Decades in this climate taught us exactly what it does to a finish: intense UV at altitude, wind-driven snow, big daily temperature swings, and dry air that's hard on wood. We spec products and prep for those conditions instead of whatever's on sale, and it's why we can keep homes looking their best year-round, exteriors and decks through the warm months, interiors and drywall through winter.
